ICSE Academy

Final Conference of the ICSE Academy project at the ETE2025

The ICSE Academy project is an ambitious Erasmus+ Teacher Academy project addressing the critical need for advancing STEM education across Europe by building a robust, high-quality STEM teacher workforce. Its primary objective is to reduce the proportion of underperforming STEM learners through equipping educators with innovative, effective teaching methods that meet the challenges of today’s educational landscape. The emphasis of the teacher professional development activities of the ICSE Academy project have been on STEM pedagogical practices, digital transformation, sustainability, and inclusion in STEM education.

The ICSE Academy focused on fostering collaboration, mobility, and the integration of a European perspective into teaching practices, the project ensures a holistic approach to teacher education. It draws on a dynamic partnership of 13 countries, uniting higher education institutions, policy makers, and schools to develop and implement cutting-edge professional learning formats, such as peer-learning through job-shadowing, interdisciplinary European workshops, and collaborative summer schools. These formats are tailored to enhance teacher competence, promote knowledge exchange, and bridge gaps in STEM education, ultimately fostering a unified European STEM education ecosystem. The conference is uniquely designed to cater to teachers, researchers, and policy makers, creating a platform for dialogue and collaboration. Additionally, attendees will have opportunities to explore the project’s outputs, tools, and methodologies, gaining valuable insights into its transformative potential for STEM education. By combining expertise, fostering dialogue, and promoting the project’s innovative approaches, the conference aims to maximize its impact and support the adoption of sustainable, future-proof solutions across European STEM education systems.
